Gillet Vertigo.5 Tony Gillet, a former race car driver, and his company Automobiles Gillet will start selling an updated version of the Gillet Vertigo starting next month. Known as the Gillet Vertigo.5, the model drops the Alfa Romeo V6 for a Maserati 4.2L V8 engine making 420-hp. Mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheels, the Vertigo.5 goes from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The new model weight in at just 2,183 pounds, thanks to its ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber honeycomb monocoque with double wishbones. While no prices have been revealed, the previous Gillet Vertigo sold for $265,000.
